TheTermsThe Jujutsu Kaisen power ranking
A binding vow is a contract, and this fiction reads the clauses out. Tell your opponent how your technique works and it hits harder. Hand over a limb, a lifespan, or the right to ever do a thing again, and be paid in cursed energy. Grades exist here — special grade down through four numbered bands — and the sorcerers spend as much page time disputing a grade as assigning one. So what gets ranked is the contract rather than the certificate: what each of them surrendered, and what came back.
The short answer
Gojo Satoru against Ryomen Sukuna is a top the text settles and the readers dispute anyway, which is a rarer shape than a first place nobody agrees on — and the contract framing is what turns that dispute into an argument instead of a shouting match, because it names what each of them paid. Gojo agreed to nothing for what he can do. Limitless and the Six Eyes arrived with him, he negotiated for neither, and the sealing he was offered no terms on took him off the board only until somebody opened the box again. What ends him for good is a slash the man beside him at the top bought the right to land, a vow struck to strip the conditions off it — so even the removal of the one who never dealt at all was somebody else's purchase. Sukuna dealt constantly — a minute inside a body he was squatting in, terms with anyone who wanted something from a thousand-year-old curse, and at last a body of his own, taken from a boy whose father had once arranged to sell him to a clan and never delivered. Gojo is the larger quantity, Sukuna is the better party to a deal, and that is the whole disagreement. Outside the ladder sit the parties nobody ever set a price on at all.

Rank 21 and below carry a name, its tags and its sources, and no paragraph. Not a lower standard of evidence — every one of them still cites — but a different amount of prose, kept where the disagreement is.

No price was ever set
One maintains the veils the schools sit behind, one was written into a deal as the thing being handed across, and one hands down sentences it never has to answer for. Terms do get struck here — the barrier-holder buys two special-grade guards with information, and the pair of them take that offer by choice — but what changes hands in it belongs to somebody else, and the same goes for the other two: an upkeep schedule that consumes a person other people picked out is not a price, and neither is a sentence, and neither is a deferral granted from the bench. Where one of the elders does take the field himself, he is ranked below on that showing instead.
Keeps the barriers the schools work inside, and has bargained across a table exactly once on record — information handed over in exchange for two special-grade sorcerers agreeing to stay on as guards, which both of them take by choice. The barrier itself is not what was traded. The other arrangement in the file is a Star Plasma Vessel picked out and delivered by other people, a maintenance schedule rather than a bargain since the item does not get consulted, and what eventually happens to Tengen is a merger somebody else wanted.

An arrangement gets written with her inside it as the item changing hands. One body designates her; another pays to stop the transfer; she is asked by neither. She says she would rather spend more time with everyone, and is shot dead before the merger can happen. Ordered Yuta Okkotsu executed over a curse he never asked to carry, then sentenced Yuji Itadori to death and deferred it the moment Gojo made deferral the cheaper option. They fix what a grade is worth, who keeps working and who gets disposed of, and the body itself is never drawn fighting anything — where one of them does take the field, Gakuganji delivering a technique through an electric guitar, he is ranked down the ladder on that showing rather than counted up here. What the body concedes is an outcome, not a capability, so there is no figure to place it at.

Paid the most, or paid nothing
The largest bargains anybody here struck, held by the people whose price is still argued over by readers who finished the same ending. What separates them is not how much they can do, but how much it cost to be able to — and one of them is here on a price of nothing at all, which is precisely why he does not sit at the top of it.

Tier 02 · the stated ruleset
Said the rules aloud and made them hold
A ruleset announced before it is applied — most often a domain expansion, usually with a clause meant to guarantee the strike lands. Some here carry no such clause at all and they sit far apart, because what orders this tier is not the wording but whether the wording held. Answering with a competing set is the reply that works most often rather than the one that always works: one of these domains was entered through a hole a student had cut in its wall, by a man with no cursed energy and nothing to announce, who then killed the caster inside it; and another returned its verdict and took the wrong thing off the defendant.

Tier 03 · the birth contract
Entered at birth, agreed by nobody
Heavenly Restriction is a clause nobody in this setting is asked for. It runs in both directions — cursed energy taken and a body paid out, or a body taken and the reach of a technique paid out — so placement follows what each version returned rather than the mechanism they share. It also costs this tier an argument it would win on results alone: the man who walked into a domain through somebody else's exit and killed the caster is ranked under the curse that opened it, because he was never asked and never agreed, and agreement is the thing this page pays for.

Small print, honestly kept
A term small enough to say in one sentence: an hour of the day, a gesture the technique waits on, a promise about what will not be said. Modest terms, kept exactly, which is the whole reason they pay anything. Below the argued twenty this tier runs long and brief — a name, a rank and its receipts, and no paragraph — because a clause this cheap is easy to cite and not worth an essay. Some of what follows holds no quotable term at all and is listed anyway — a sorcerer who takes the field against the oldest thing in the setting has put a capability of their own on the table, which is more than any of the three names outside the ladder ever does.
