Ryomen Sukuna vs Yuji Itadori

The killerRyomen SukunaJujutsu Kaisen · rank 1
The victimYuji ItadoriJujutsu Kaisen · rank 5

A death that lasts one panel and produces the contract this whole page is named after. Read as a transaction rather than as a result it is the most consequential thing either of them ever does: every later thing the vessel is able to survive was bought in that panel, on wording supplied by the thing that had just killed him, and agreed to by someone left no memory of agreeing. The clause outlives the injury by two hundred chapters, which is not something a body count can show.

Ryomen Sukuna killed Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen.

The heart comes out of a body he does not own; the wording he offers a moment later is what puts it back.

Negotiated one minute inside a borrowed body, called it a single time, and spent it taking Megumi Fushiguro. The stretch of Shibuya he cut apart earlier was a longer stay in the same borrowed body, bought by other people forcing his fingers down its throat.

Yuji Itadori on the Jujutsu Kaisen ladder

What this does not settle

One death in one work. It is the only place the record puts these two in the same room, and it is evidence about that meeting and nothing wider — not a general matchup, not a rematch, and not a ranking of its own.

The ladder above it is argued from everything either of them has been shown doing; this page is argued from one citation.

Where the two disagree, the disagreement is the point, and it stays visible rather than being resolved by whichever of them happens to be on this page.
