Does this death move the ranking?

Upset

The lower-ranked entity killed the higher-ranked one. The record and the ladder disagree.

The record says fifth killed first, and the ladder does not move, because of how. Baryon Mode is not a thing this ranking can credit him with being able to do — it is a thing he was able to spend. It runs on his own remaining life, it expires on a clock, and what it bought was a lifespan drained rather than a body beaten. Kawaki struck last. The same exchange took Kurama, so the price included a partner who does not come back. A ranking of what someone can do has to ask whether they could do it again, and the honest answer here is no: this was a single unrepeatable transaction, paid for in years and in somebody else. First place is a statement about the fight that would happen tomorrow, and it stays where it is.

Inside Baryon Mode he outfights the strongest thing the sequel has produced, and the argument for fifth rather than first is what that costs: the form burns his own life to run, expires on a clock, and leaves somebody else to strike last. He also spent the entire series formally ranked genin — the lowest grade the system issues — and then became Hokage, the top of the same ladder, without passing the examination in between.

He handles the two strongest shinobi alive at once and is not seriously troubled by it, which nothing else in the franchise manages. What finally works against him is not better fighting but a form that runs on its user's remaining life: inside Baryon Mode, Naruto does outpace and outhit him — and then the mode expires on schedule, having shortened Isshiki's lifespan enough for somebody else to land the last blow. First place here belongs to the opponent nobody beat with a technique they could use twice.

What this does not settle

One death in one work. It is the only place the record puts these two in the same room, and it is evidence about that meeting and nothing wider — not a general matchup, not a rematch, and not a ranking of its own. The ladder above it is argued from everything either of them has been shown doing; this page is argued from one citation. Where the two disagree, the disagreement is the point, and it stays visible rather than being resolved by whichever of them happens to be on this page.
